Stealth has often been thought to be the next big revelation in modern Mech combat, although the actual systems that are in use today are temperamental and sensitive to outside interference, although there are few robust systems out there in product, albeit with hefty price tags.

Few Mech pilots can afford to obtain enough Stealth Field Generators to effectively cloak an entire Mech due to the power constraints of modern power generation technologies, despite the fast pace of change and development.

Method of Operations

The Stealth Field Generator operates by the use of electronic and optical counter-measures. It throws out a localised energy field which bends light and creates a 'bubble' of "invisible space" which effectively hides the component hidden within the field.

The field itself offers no further protection that merely obscuring the true size, shape and location of the item hidden within, making it more difficult to obtain a solid target lock on the component hidden within.

The stealth field's one main limitation is that is takes a large amount of power to generate a field of any realistic size and the power generation requirements to create a field powerful enough to obscure a full Mech is something that require further research - although many Mech pilots think that it may become a reality in the near future.
