Part Background

The Missile Phalanx, or simply the Missile Destroyer, is a small defensive autonomous anti-missile turret fitted with 4 radar-seeking missiles.

Completely autonomous by nature, the Missile Destroyer is capable of tracking up to twelve missiles and automatically calculates their trajectories and chances of hitting the Mech they are attached to. Once they have determined that the Mech is under direct threat, they launch a counter-missile radar-seeking missile of their own which are designed to effectively eliminate the threat to the Mech.

However, the Missile Destroyer not only provides missile defence, it can also be used offensively by slaving the missiles to the Mech's fire control systems, allowing them to be use independently of the turret itself.
