Anti-grav plating is an old technology dating back to the days of the Generational ships that first colonised Technica. Anti-grav plating can be utilised to create localised fields of increased or decreased gravity depending on the polarity of the plating used.
Anti-grav hover locomotors are a common sight amongst wealthy nobility as they provide a measure of security - since anti-grav hover locomotors typically have no moving parts, and can operate in any environment without loss of performance.
There is also a direct link with history associated with them due to the fact that they use older technological principals found on the Generational ships.
