Since we started, we've been looking at ways to create a believable world, we wanted to give you guys all the little details about the settlements and Districts populating the Techniconica world.
The Support Cards!
Support parts are additional attached parts that provide boosts to the parts they are attached to.
Difference between Modifications and Support Parts
Modifications are just what their name suggests – they modify the base card such as a weapon, locomotor or cockpit. Support cards are different in that they are actual parts bolted onto the part they are attached to and feed off their power source and often grant the part additional capabilities or perks.
Some pilots hang decorative furry dice in their Cockpits that they believe will help mitigate their bad luck on the battlefield.
Lucky Dice grants the Pilot the Lucky rule, giving them a free re-roll once per turn. This can be used on Evasion rolls, Attacking rolls or any other roll they may be required upon to make!
Lynx Tracking Radar
Improving the accuracy of weapons through the use of advanced tracking radars and built in cogniters, any weapon this is attacked to gains the Accurate special rule which can double the chance of causing a successful hit.
The Solar Booster is a useful addition to any Mech - giving you the ability to temporarily boost your Power Output for a turn - especially useful if your opponent is going for a 'power generator' kill
Smoke launchers are a stable of most Mechs - allowing you to temporarily improve your chances of survival for a turn. This triggered ability means that your harder to hit!
The benefits of this support item aren't immediately apparent, but when you have 2 weapons with the Recoil Dampener attached, you can fire both weapons at the same time for no loss in Accuracy! Definately worth considering if you have a spare 4 Weight and 2 Power Output!
ECM Counter Unit
This is a passive ability that inflicts a minor hinderance to enemies shooting at the part this is attached to.
Advanced Targeting Radar
This boosts your chances to hit by increasing your Pilot's Accuracy through targeting aids built into the Cockpit for a moderate cost.
Stealth Field Emitter
The last Support part, the Stealth Field Emitter (or SFE for short) provide Stealth (1) for a relatively high cost in terms of Power Consumption! However, it does benefit the whole Mech whereas the other defensive Support Parts are smaller in their defensive scopes!
